Cultural Celebrations

Cinco de Mayo 2018

Please note new day, time, and location:
Thursday, May 3rd, 9pm to 10pm, in the South America Room (2nd Floor)

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has taken on a significance beyond that in Mexico and has become associated with the celebration of Mexican-American culture. We commemorate the Mexican Army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862 with our festivities. Join us for an evening of Mexican food, drink, music, and educational activities and games provided by the Mexican Cultural Center.

Please also consider joining us before the reception at our screening of the Morelia Gender and Sexual Diversity Program, presented in partnership with Morelia Film Festival – Morelia Gender and Sexual Diversity Program, Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia, and Mexican Cultural Center.
