JOSH SEVIN NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF INTERNATIONAL HOUSE PHILADELPHIA
Civic Leader to Chart New Direction for University City Nonprofit
PHILADELPHIA (May 10, 2018) – International House Philadelphia today announced that Josh Sevin will join the organization as president and chief executive officer starting on May 14.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Josh in his new role as president and CEO at International House,” said Ludo Scheffer, chair of the International House Philadelphia board of trustees and teaching professor in Drexel University’s Department of Psychology. “Josh’s diverse experience, talent, and passion for improving our region are a perfect fit for International House and will help us chart an exciting new direction for the organization.”
Sevin joins International House from the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, a regional civic leadership group where he most recently served as acting executive director. Sevin’s accomplishments at the Economy League included development of the World Class Greater Philadelphia agenda, launching a collaborative regional effort to drive export-led growth, and expansion of the Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange into the region’s premier leadership conference.
“I am thrilled and honored to lead this institution that has done so much over its history to create a more welcoming and global Philadelphia,” Sevin said. “I look forward to working with International House’s board of trustees, its dedicated staff, and an expanded array of partners to build on IHP’s rich legacy and reposition it to meet the evolving needs and opportunities of today’s Philadelphia.”
Sevin co-founded Young Involved Philadelphia, a nonprofit focused on civic engagement among young Philadelphians, and has been named one of Greater Philadelphia’s top 101 connectors by Leadership Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Yale University and MIT and lives in University City with his wife Naomi and two daughters.
“Josh has an impressive track record of organizational leadership and bringing together diverse stakeholders across our region to advance common goals,” said Glenn Martin, chief operating officer at International House. “We’re delighted that he’s bringing these strengths to I-House to guide our next phase of growth and increase IHP’s impact in our community.”
