In recent years, mainstream film and television productions have seen increasing on-screen appearances and behind-the-scenes involvement by people of color, including Asian Americans. However, even as Hollywood has begun to recognize and depict the diverse fabric of American culture, obstacles remain reconciling a shared Pan Asian identity amid distinct ethnicities and mixed race backgrounds. PAAFF presents a lively panel celebrating the increasing diversity of talent in mainstream media and the struggle to recognize and share the stories of Asian Americans in film and television.

Moderated by Richard Lui - Anchor, NBC News Early Today and MSNBC Dayside
