Master Class: Sam Pollard
Sam Pollard, prolific producer and director of the documentary August Wilson: The Ground on Which I Stand is an Emmy and Peabody winner for much of his work on PBS, including Eyes On The Prize II: America at the Racial Crossroads. Mr. Pollard has edited a number of Spike Lee's films: Mo' Better Blues, Jungle Fever, Girl 6, Clockers, and Bamboozled and co-produced Spike Lee Presents Mike Tyson (HBO) for which Mr. Pollard received an Emmy, and Four Little Girls, which was nominated for an Academy Award.
A producer and director and the editor of the much anticipated documentary BaddDDD Sonia Sanchez, Sabrina Schmidt Gordon is also editor and co-producer of DOCUMENTED, story of an undocumented American and his fight for immigration reform; Mrs. Goundo's Daughter, a Sundance Institute/ ITVS documentary about a young Malian mother's quest to protect her baby daughter from female genital cutting, and Hip-Hop: Beyond Beats and Rhymes, a groundbreaking PBS documentary about manhood and gender politics in mainstream Hip- Hop.
