Join us for dinner at Kilimandjaro Restaurant, 4317 Chestnut Street, to explore some of the wonderful diversity and culinary treasures Philadelphia has to offer! We'll feast on the "utterly delicious" authentic Senegalese cuisine that gets rave reviews from nearly everyone who tries it, at this charming and intimate restaurant in University City. Owner Youma Ba will speak about the culinary traditions of her native Senegal and the work of her organization, Echoes of Africa. Bring your friends and enjoy new tastes from around the world!

Appetizers:

Kilimandjaro Salade: fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, shrimps, onions, carottes, home made dressing

Entrees:

Chicken Yassa, sauteed with onions, garlic, lemon, black pepper, habanero, mustard dijon, carrots

Fresh Tilapia, marinated and grilled

Lamb Chops

Fried Rice / Couscous / White Rice

Fresh Ginger Juice

Bissap (hibiscus tea) - the national drink of Senegal


Dessert:

Thiakry - african couscous with sour cream and pineapple juice

Space is limited, so purchase your tickets in advance! - our last evening of Culture + Cuisine celebrating Korea sold out! The price of $45 per person ($40 for IHP Members) includes the presentation, food, non-alcoholic beverages, tax, and gratuity. The restaurant is BYOB, so feel free to bring along a bottle of your favorite wine to complement the meal! 

Even if you are unable to attend, please consider sponsoring one of our residents for $40 to enable them to join us!  As you know, many of our students are on very tight budgets and would otherwise be unable to take advantage of this cultural opportunity. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
