Culture & Cuisine: Mexico
House Philadelphia and the Board of Delegates cordially invite you for an
evening of Culture and Cuisine to meet and share a meal with IHP residents and
friends from around the world in an intimate setting on Tuesday, July 21st
at 6 pm.
This month, Culture and Cuisine takes us to a neighborhood diner, Café Ynez where executive chef JC Pina brings flavors of his home in Mexico City. Take a 30 minute guided tour of the adjacent facility NextFab which designed Café’s logo, built and upholstered the benches, fabricated and applied all the paneling and printed the fabulous photos that were taken by NextFab member and internationally-known artist, Miguel Horn, and by photographer Craig Lovell.
We will get an opportunity to meet Miguel Horn, who will be speaking about his work and his experiences in Mexico City, training with Javier Marin, a world-renowned Mexican sculptor. Miguel started out as a painter and then turned to sculpture while at the Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. After graduating, he decided to make the trip from Philadelphia to Mexico City (on a motorcycle) to work as an apprentice with Marin.
We hope you can make it and as always, look forward to seeing you.
The price is $45 per person ($40 for IHP Members) and includes the presentation, food, tax and gratuity. This evening is BYOB. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or enjoy the selection provided by IHP.
Please look for street parking or use parking lot of the shutdown Chocolate factory at 2101 Washington Avenue.
