Free Outdoor Screenings start tonight!

Wednesday August 3, 2011 – Our free outdoor screening series is back! Unfortunately, it won’t be outdoors tonight. Although we’ve been gifted with a rare bout of non-oppressive temperature and humidity, we’ve also seen too much rain and storms to risk being outside.

This year’s program is “Destination: Animation,” featuring some of the best psychedelic animation from the time before computers. Tonight, we show the classic The Phantom Toolbooth. On August 17, we bring you The Point, based on the Harry Nilsson album and narrated by Ringo Starr (drummer for an obscure 1960′s-era skiffle band).

We close out the program on August 31 with The Secret of NIMH, the directorial debut of animation king Don Bluth (An American Tail,The Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven).

I remember this movie being very scary when I was a child.

Tell your friends! We hope to be back outdoors for the remaining screenings, and they are both of course FREE. Bring a picnic, drink, or snack.
