arts programs
For over thirty years, International House has been the leading venue in Philadelphia for repertory film programming, independent premieres and cutting edge, avant-garde cinema from around the world. Film @ International House fosters a greater appreciation for film and the moving image as both a powerful means of artistic expression and as an avenue for greater cultural, political and social understanding. We seek to serve International House’s residents as well as the Greater Philadelphia region’s multinational and multicultural community through our year-round exhibition and advocacy of artistically significant, socially relevant films and programs.
International House presents the most unique and innovative artists working in music and performance. With an emphasis on experimentation and improvisation, the stage at International House is an ideal forum for discovering new sounds and ideas. Additionally, International House hosts forward thinking authors, scholars and cultural leaders whose unique voices bring new perspectives to our global society.
Art @ International House emerged from requests by local artists and organizations for space to showcase their work. A partnership with InLiquid Art + Design resulted in a dedicated new media gallery with video installations. The other gallery highlights the work of local and regional artists.
Free admission to receptions. Galleries are open to the public Monday – Friday from 10am to 6pm and whenever there is a program in The Ibrahim Theater.
